These are so easy to knit up and felt, and even more fun to embellish! The gnome measures, after felting and stuffed with fiberfill, about 7-inches high. The mushroom measures about 4-inches. The beards are needle felted using wool roving.

According to old German folklore, the garden gnome is good luck, and that the forces of nature are on your side!

Look to the website in the near future for additional samples. The gnome makes for a great Santa Claus. Directions and photos to follow soon!

Create a robin, a cardinal or a chickadee all from this same pattern. Or how about creating your own bird? one with polka dots and embroidery? Samples to come soon.

The bird is knit in one piece using 10-1/2 double point needles. The wings and tail are attached by picking up stitches. The special details are added, after felting, using needle felting and wool roving.

Don't forget your Woolly Nest & Eggs! The birds tuck perfectly within their home-made nest! See below.

NEW! Woolly Nest & Eggs

Knit a life-like nest using earthy color yarns and raffia or a whimsical nest, using bright colors and exotic novelty yarns and ribbons. Fill each nest with speckled or, even, polka dotted eggs. Have fun thinking like a bird. The skies the limit!

This nest pattern differs from the Woolly Nest Ornament Kit in several ways. This new pattern creates a 5-inch nest with knitted eggs, whereas the kit, creates a 3-inch nest with needle felted eggs. Woolly Nest & Eggs pattern also give instructions on how to dye with Kool-Aid to create that hard-to-find Robin's Egg Blue color.
